More Jesus Monday

5/25/20

Good morning! I can't believe it's Monday already. This time is really flying by. Well, anyhow, I hope you've had an enjoyable weekend with loved ones and are ready for More Jesus Monday!

This blog is called More Jesus Less Jennae. Start to put your name in place of mine. Instead of Jenna'e, say More Jesus Less _______.

As followers of Christ, we should be striving to reflect him daily. We should begin to decrease—our selfish desires, our wants for things of this world, and our love for sin will start to go away. The more we seek Christ, the more we'll want to please him and not ourselves. The more we let the Holy Spirit be our guide, the more we'll walk in the spirit and not the flesh.

We may still be tempted; we may even fall because we aren't perfect. However, we serve a perfect God who is there to pick us up when we fall! You may be afraid your life will change too drastically or that you'll lose people who are important to you, but let me tell you something, no one can love you like Jesus. Your relationship with him holds the most weight.

I can't promise you an easy walk, or that all of your problems will go away. What I can tell you is that this walk with Jesus is worth it. I can tell you that Jesus will never leave your side when problems arise because he loves you. I can tell you that Jesus will be strong when you're weak. He'll be your comforter when you're hurting, and everything else you need in life. So, don't be afraid to let go of your life because Jesus IS life. He will give your life a whole new meaning. You'll long for more of his spirit, more of his truth, and less of yourself.

Today, ask yourself these questions:

  1. What part of my life have I not entirely given over to God?
  2. Am I afraid of losing something or losing loved ones by entirely giving my life over to  Christ?
  3. How can my life be a reflection of Christ today?

Matthew 10:39(KJV)

He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

John 14:6 (KJV)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Take it to Jesus Tuesday

5/26/20

You know what day it is! It's Take it to Jesus Tuesday!

What's your challenge today? What are you facing? Do you have some concerns about a loved one? Finances? Your future? Your career? Go ahead and hand whatever it is to our Savior. It's time to go to the Lord in prayer.

How often do we really pray? I mean like REALLY pray. Like get into a quiet space and pour our heart out to God, or better yet get into that quiet place and just sit in silence so that we can genuinely hear GOD?

I am encouraging you to get into that secret place where there is no one but you and GOD. That place where you really focus on God and being in his presence. Tell him what is on your heart and then sit in silence so that you can hear him as well. Prayer is not one-sided.

Take your worries, cares, hurt, and everything else to JESUS. He knows your heart and your desires. He wants to hear from you. Prayer is our secret weapon. It has the power to change things. Being able to talk to our wonderful God anytime is such a blessing that we take for granted. It's time we get serious about our prayer life. We must war in prayer for our lives, our loved ones, and this world. Take it to Jesus in prayer today and every day.

Jeremiah 29:12 (KJV)

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)
Pray without ceasing.

You're Worth it Wednesday

5/27/20

Wednesday already. Well, not just any Wednesday, it’s You’re Worth it Wednesday! Things have been tough in our world. News headlines sadden our days, and life has been crazy for most of us. We’re trying to be the best parents, be successful on our jobs, maintain our health and just do well overall. So, I want to bring you some encouragement before you go to sleep tonight.

I want to let you know that your worth isn't in what you do or what you have done. You matter to God. You are important. You have a purpose. God sees you. The world may not see you, the world may not love you, BUT you have an amazing GOD who created you in his image, and he does love you.

Tonight, rest knowing that God made us all, and he loves us all. Rest knowing that your life has value and meaning. Rest knowing that God sees what is happening on this earth and has a plan. Rest on the fact that your worth is found in God and nothing else.

Think about it Thursday

5/28/20

Think about it. Think. Take a moment. How do you feel right now? What’s on your mind? What is your heart filled with? Is it rage? Fear? Anxiety? Confusion?

Our world is in turmoil right now. Brutal murders. Racism. A pandemic. Division.

Maybe you’re wondering where God is in the midst of all of this. Perhaps you’re questioning why he allows hurt and suffering. I, too, feel the hurt. I also am ready for the pain to be gone, but I still trust God. He loves us. He's still with us.

Tonight, let’s think about our eternity. This life is hard and seems long; however, this is just a short time compared to forever. This world is not our home. I am by no means dismissing the hurt and anger we feel at this time. I am not saying that we can’t stand up for what is right. I am saying that we must stay focused on God and how he wants us to approach things. Let’s keep running this race with love in our hearts. I know it’s far from easy. I know. We have to pray when it’s hard to pray. We have to keep loving when it is hard to love.

One day this hurt will be gone, and we’ll be with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Before you close your eyes tonight, read over these scriptures. Let your spirit be filled with comfort from the Lord. Keep your eyes on eternity.

Proverbs 3:5-6(KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Ephesians 4:26(KJV)

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Revelation 21:4(KJV)

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Romans 12:19(KJV)

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Psalm 34:18(KJV)

The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Faithful Friday

5/29/20

Hey, ya'll! I know you're used to Face it Friday, but today will be different. This is Faithful Friday. I want us to focus on how faithful our God is. No matter what things look like right now. No matter how hard life may or may not be. God always proves to be faithful.

He is there for us when we sin over and over. He remains faithful to us when we are unfaithful to him. I can't even count how many times I've done my own thing, went my own way, and God was still there when I needed him. To be completely honest, God doesn't have to do anything for us. We are so undeserving, yet God continues to bless us. We disconnect ourselves from God when we don't get our way or when we are hurt, but God welcomes us back in every time. He's always there waiting for us. He's always there comforting us and making sure we have what we need. God shows up for us when we need him most. He's always there watching his children. Why? Because he is faithful.

When life gets exhausting and seems too hard to handle, remember that the God we serve is still faithful and worthy to be praised.

Psalm 119:90 (KJV)

Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (KJV)

Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

It's Time to Say Goodbye to the Old You

Now is the time to say goodbye to the old you. If you've given your life to Christ, you are a new person! How amazing is that? Imagine this, you dumping all the things you once were, all the things you once did, all the names you were once called right into the garbage, and walking away with your head held high. At that moment, you're smiling the brightest smile because you know you've been set free. You walk away knowing that you have a purpose, knowing that you are now a child of the King. Wow.  At this point, it's all about what God thinks of you and how you can serve him. So, you can let go of feeling like you have to impress anyone. You can do away with those things you're using or doing to bring happiness into your life for what is really just a short period. I don't need to name them. I'm sure you know. We all have our challenges, but God can help us through them. I'm here to tell you that nothing is going to fill your soul like Jesus, a genu...

Patience

Hey!  I'm excited to share this Bible plan with you all! There were a few topics requested, so we're going to start with patience. It's so important that we stay focused on the Lord. We should allow Him to work on our hearts and mold us in all areas of our lives.  Let's first take a look at the definition of the word patient . The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines patient as  bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint.  It defines patience as  the capacity, habit, or fact of being patient. Do these words describe you? Are you praying God will strengthen you in this area? Who's the first person that comes to mind when you think of these words? Our heavenly father comes to my mind. He is more than patient with us and gives us new chances each day.  Now that we've taken a look at how the dictionary describes patience, let's study what the word says about it. I encourage you to pray before reading each day. Seek the Lord for guidance and allow Him to...
